I'm surprised I'm still up now. I am so friggin' tired, but ... no school tomorrow! It's Saturday! During the initial drawing phase of class, there was a lot of 'I want it this way' bickering and no compromising as we figured out what to go in this mural. And one girl was just going "I don't get it ... " the whole time. I wanted to slap her.
We've decided on a way of incorporating a stylish V (for Visitation, which is the name of the catholic school) as a backdrop to our mural and then adding bits of history or part of the community around it. Toss in a few figures. Something like that, we're not sure. It's going to take a lot of effort from me to do this class, on top of all the other crap in my other classes. I'm not going to even get into what I need to do for that class the Friday of ACen that I'll be missing. Let's just say it's gonna suck, but what can I do? I'm not missing ACen!
I took the W.O.M.B.A.T test on jkrowling.com. I think I did terribly. It was really hard! THE hardest damn HP quiz EVER! I shit you not.
OMFG, April 1st tomorrow. The Weasley Twins' Birthday! xD Actually, technically, it is April 1st in the UK, because Rowling's website says so.
Edit: The school that we're painting this mural for has no money to hire an art teacher. So, instead the kids have an after school art club put on by volunteered DePaul art students and faculty of Visitation. I couldn't help but notice their Naruto drawings, even going so far as to draw Naruto's name in Japanese kanji. There's something oddly ... funny about the fact that so many otaku can be obsessed with a TV show that's known and liked by 1st graders. Sorta like Keidy's obsession with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. And my strange tendency to watch LazyTown because I think Sporticus is hawt :O
But it was also sorta cute and interesting to see these kids even somewhat interested in Japanese culture to want to draw fanart and kanji from Naruto. Makes me wonder even more about otaku and their levels of intelligence.
