http://hogwarts.tkpilon.com/index.html - Website for the Return to Hogwarts event that I was at yesterday.

Well, that was quite the experience. I didn't know what to expect, Mouse even told me "It's nothing like your HP cons you go to." I thought she meant ... like, not too many people. Oh, there were people. Tons of them, mostly kids between the ages of 5 and 14 and their parents.

Our booth was a hit. Between the merchandise and the photo booth, it was crazy busy. It didn't help that I was the only one that knew how to use photoshop in an efficient manner and I was also a character that children wanted their photo with. Dumbledore manning a laptop was quite amusing. The photos did well, my frames were a pretty big hit too. I spray painted wood frames with chalkboard paint and attached a little piece of chalk to ribbon. I also added cute little wizard themed buttons, too.

I didn't get a change to mingle at all, we were so ridiculously busy. Only once the movie started did we get a chance to sit and relax. 4 straight hours of non-stop work, it was rather taxing, especially considering I'd been up since 7 am and it took us 2 hours to get there. Overall, it was pretty enjoyable. I got to meet Phoenix for the first time and she's nearly a spitting image of cali_gari, in appearance and in sense of humor.

When it was all said and done, and we were heading back home, I realized how completely exhausted I was. Even passing out for a little while in the car didn't help. My body aches, my legs are sore, my head is killing me. I can't tell if it's worth it, if I'd do it again. But I just might. Lisa and I think we'd do a completely separate booth just for our photo set up, and marking the price up a bit more. It took us about an hour to really get the hang of it all, but it's all been a learning experience.

When Mouse said it wasn't like my HP cons, I didn't know she meant it was INSANE. I think if she told me, I would still have done it. But I can understand why she didn't.

Thank you a million times over biscuit_threat for the wonderful edible bouquet. I've always wanted one :) We need to catch up with each other soon, maybe go out for a bite or some drinks. I have s ome more tattoo ideas I want to talk to you about.
