handholding

(no subject)

Today will, without a doubt, be the one of the hardest days of my life. But tomorrow is guaranteed to be worse.

If anyone wishes to attend, the funeral is today (Friday) from 3 to 8 at Knollcrest Funeral Home in Lombard. The address is 1500 South Meyers Road, Lombard, IL 60148. Their phone number, for directions, is (630) 932-1500.

Tomorrow's mass will be at 9:30 at Ascension of Our Lord church, 1 S 314 Summit Ave., Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181.

Then the luncheon will be at around 12 at the Marriot Oak Brook Hills, 3500 Midwest Road, Oak Brook, IL 60523.

An obituary was put in the Tribune for today as well.

The Wake

Thank you to all of my amazing friends that showed up today to help me get through it. I probably would not have done as well as I had without them. It was a surprise and a delight to see them all. Seeing friends that I have unfortunatly lost touch with, to know that they came through for me was just such a great feeling. To see a fellow co-worker from JoAnn's was another surprise that warmed my heart. Meeting with my dad's co workers, with his boss and the owner of United was very nice. They brought us really great pictures of my dad in his first days at work with them, including a photo of my mother in a fork lift operator's seat. Many neighbors showed, as well as my mother's former co-workers that I've known since my childhood.

All in all, it was a wonderful wake, although incredibly exhausting. If anyone has some spare energy they'd like to give me for tomorrow, I'll take whatever I'm given. (alabastardragon, you are exempt from this seeing as how you need to save some for yourself now :) )

He looked at peace, and every now and then I would slightly stare at him and almost see him breathing. It was just as if he were asleep. Better than I could've ever imagined.

Thank you, for all of your support <3
