handholding

(no subject)

Looks like there will be no Navy Pier haunted attraction this year. Not that I was going to work for them again. After the hellish Halloween I had last year, particularly not being able to dress up at all, I wasn't going back. It was a good experience, though. I don't know if that means there will be no Fright Fest at Six Flags either. It would be very sad if they had to get rid of that. I haven't gone in a few years, but I would love to go sometime this October. They go all the way with Halloween, way more so than Navy Pier.

I managed to get my Azkatraz registration before the deadline. It still kills me to pay over $100 for a con. I would do it for HPEF, though. Not for Narrate :)

Dad's doing alright. Still no immediate change, but he's not getting worse. So things are looking up, but I don't want to jinx it in any way. Still no sign of when he'll be coming home. It may take weeks for his blood clots to dissolve.

The rain is finally over. Thank you, remnants of Ike. Our retention pond by the house was getting higher and higher. It was no more than 5 feet from the edge of our driveway and that's the closest I have ever seen it. The great willow tree fell over as well, which makes me really sad. I loved that tree, and how perfect the branches were for making whips to hit my brother with when I was little :) We also have a slightly leaky roof, upstairs by my bedroom. And some water in the basement, but nothing to really worry about.

I can't wait to go back to work tomorrow. I hate the smell of this hospital and the assholes that reside here. I got yelled at by 2 security guards and the nurses aides are the most worthless staff I've ever seen. This hospital is so thoughtless. I almost wish we were at Hinsdale instead. Luckily my mom is a quality control nurse at her own hospital, I get the feeling she'll be explaining in great detail about the care my father's been recieving here. I get the feeling they won't change much no matter what.
